Abstract

RoomEase Portal: Manage and Navigate aims to solve the manual room and lecturer office management ineffectiveness that has been time-consuming and reliant on obsolete paper-based methods, thus delaying, inaccurately informing, and frustrating students, lecturers, and administrators at Universiti Poly- Tech Malaysia. This study presents a centralized digital platform to facilitate real-time room allocation updates and provide interactive floor plans for easy navigation within UPTM's campus. The solution will focus on core functionalities: dynamic room assignments, visual floor mapping, and role-based access for stakeholders. The system was developed in an Agile methodology, emphasizing iterative development, user feedback, and adaptive planning. Key phases included requirement gathering, sprint-based prototyping, and continuous testing with stakeholders. With the help of React Native (frontend), PocketBase (backend), and Visual Studio Code (development environment), rapid deployment of a scalable and user-friendly system was possible. Administrators can assign multiple lecturers to shared rooms via a one-to-many relational model, while students access real-time office locations through an intuitive interface.
